Recipes Cubed Steak with Mushroom Gravy and Potatoes (Entree)

    • 2 12-oz jars reduced-fat mushroom gravy
    • 2 7-oz cans mushroom stems and pieces, drained
    • 1/2 teaspoon dried leaf thyme
    • 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
    • 6 4-ounce cube steaks
    • 6 medium red potatoes, washed and cut in quarters (about a pound total)

Coat the slow cooker insert with cooking spray. Put the gravy, mushrooms and seasonings into the cooker and stir until well mixed. Mix the meat into the gravy and then mix the potatoes, with the skin facing up, into the gravy. Cover and cook on low for 7-8 hours or on high for 3-4 hours. Remove meat and place on serving plates and with a spoon remove the potatoes and gravy to top each steak piece.
